My favorite gifts I got for Christmas...

I wanted to share a couple of gifts I got from my family for Christmas that I really love! I wasn't paid to tell you about them and I did NOT receive the product for free! Just asked for a couple of things and was richly blessed.

I mentioned to my hubby that I would LOVE an iRobot Roomba vacuum. I didn't know how I felt about it. I wasn't sure if it was really worth the money. It's not cheap, not going to lie. As you may remember, I hate cleaning. I don't mind vacuuming, but it's time consuming and between the dog and the dust and L.A. smog, our floors don't stay looking swept for very long. My kids have to vacuum as part of their chores, in their rooms, etc. but I thought it would be nice to have the floors swept often.

Well, at first I wasn't so sure that the Roomba was going to be all that big of a deal. I had to "babysit" it the first few times to see where it would go and what it might possibly run into -- you can't have any cords on the floor or something like that that it can get caught up in. It has these virtual "walls" that come with it so you can keep it away from certain areas. Because I have a step down family room back into our master bedroom, the vacuum can only do about half the house at one time.

Honestly, if you have clutter on your floors, this isn't the vacuum for you. I have almost all hardwood floors and hard flooring, with the exception of carpet in our master bedroom. I think it does really well on these surfaces, but my favorite thing is that it goes UNDER my couches and cleans way back behind there, where I'd never be able to get! I can now say that I LOVE having this vacuum. I leave to go somewhere and turn it on and it vacuum for about an hour and a half!! Everything is clean when I get home and it returns to it's charging station.

The OTHER organizing thing I got for Christmas is Snapware Glasslock storage containers. Go HERE for a good reason why to use glass instead of plastic. Originally, I asked my mom for these, as I'm trying to phase out my plastic left over containers. She bought me the Pyrex brand AND the Snapware. I like both alot - but I think the Snapware is my favorite of the two. I kept both and am using them a lot!

I like the Snapware for several reasons. I can easily write on the lid what the type of food is inside and the date -- super important to me! {My friend, Ginny also found a way to write on the Pyrex lids, see that HERE}. The other thing I like about them is that the lids are super easy to put on. My mom, who suffers from AVM {now recovered with brain surgery last year} has trouble with her strength in her fingers and it was easy for her to snap the lids off and on. I just love them.

So, what was YOUR favorite gift you got for Christmas?

The gifts I LOVE:
Pyrex Glass Containers

P.S. My friend, Geralin Thomas {you know her as one of the patient organizers on the show "Hoarders"} has interviewed me on her blog today. Hop on over and read the interview and let her know I sent you! Go HERE to read the interview!
